A COUPLE OF STRANGERS ARE HAVING SEX IN YOUR LIVING ROOM!
A group of strangers come into your house and start throwing some cuss words around. They make sexually suggestive comments, and someone pulls out a gun and waves it threateningly at the others. A guy and girl from that group then proceed to make out in front of your family while pulling each other's clothes off... and you watch as they have sex in your living room. But don't worry! The couple were under a sheet during the sex, so your kids didn't really see it.
Aren't you outraged?
But here's the worst part: You invited these people and even paid them to be there!
That's right, you rented a PG-13 movie for a family movie night, a night of innocent family fun.
WHAT IS THIS MOVIE RATED?!
How many times have you been watching a movie with your family only to be caught off guard by the unforeseen placement of nudity, vulgar language, or graphic violence?
Even if you can cover the children's eyes and ears in time…the damage has already been done. Though your children may never imitate the foul scenes from the movie, those scenes are with them forever and are proven to have long-lasting psychological effects.
THE TROJAN HORSE
In the Greek story of the Trojan War, the Greeks give a giant wooden horse to their foes, the Trojans, supposedly as a peace offering. But after the Trojans drag the horse inside their city walls, Greek soldiers sneak out of the horse's hollow belly and open the city gates, allowing the rest of the Greek army to pour in and capture the city.
Sometimes a movie can be like a Trojan Horse from Satan. We innocently rent a "family" movie and before we know it, our enemy has gained access to our home and to our children's impressionable minds (not to mention our own minds).
THE MOVIE RATING SYSTEM CAN'T BE TRUSTED!
After a similar situation my family had a little meeting to discuss what we saw. We had already made the decision not to watch R rated movies. What we didn't realize is that the movie rating system can't be trusted anymore. A recent study conducted by Harvard indicates that movie ratings have been "creeping" over the last 10 years. The people who decide the movie ratings don't have Christian values - it seems to me like they only value money.
My 14 year old brother got an eye full of two girls going at it in a hot-tub thanks to Dumb and Dumberer - a movie rated as PG-13. Although the MPAA thinks that two girls making out in a jacuzzi is okay for 14 years olds to watch - we aren't okay with that in our house.
Well at least we can watch movies rated PG… right? Wrong. My 7 year old sister thinks that Pinocchio is a women's thong-underwear wearing cross-dresser after watching Shrek 2 - a PG movie!
So unless a movie is rated G then you can almost expect there will be at least some kind of objectionable content - and here's why:
HOLLYWOOD'S AGENDA TO INDOCTRINATE YOUR CHILDREN
In my younger days I worked in the Hollywood TV and movie industry. From my experiences there I can tell you this: Everyone from the screen writers to the costume and set designers to the actors and agents - they live a completely different lifestyle than you and I do.
The majority of them aren't married and don't have children. A large number are homosexuals, and the rest are very supportive of the homosexual behavior of their friends and colleagues. The attitude is that "it's all good" and they're open to try and accept anything. Most of them don't align themselves with any sort of religion - yet these are the people who create the programming that all of us Christians watch! Should we be surprised when it doesn't meet our standards?
These ultra-liberals are rabid mad at anyone who dares insinuate that right and wrong exist, because it means that they would have to re-evaluate their lives and choices. That's why they are trying to use their influence in the media to indoctrinate our youth with their agenda; to "teach" them to embrace the things that we know are wrong. Today's Shrek watchers are tomorrow's choice-making adults, voters and lawmakers.
WHAT CAN YOU DO ABOUT IT?
If you search the internet for "Christian movie reviews" you will soon find that it's nearly impossible to find anything coming out of Hollywood that meets Christian standards.
Even the good movies have those little "surprises" in them. So what can you do about it?
Now Your Family Can Watch Movies
Without The Obscene Parts!
A new service called ClearPlay lets your family
watch DVDs with all the sexual situations, offensive language, and graphic violence edited out!
ClearPlay is a fancy DVD Player that can play regular DVD movies -- but without profanity, violence and nudity.
Here's how it works: They create filtering information on a movie by movie basis, and then put those "filters" into the DVD player. This way, the DVD player knows when to skip or mute while the movie is playing. For profanity or other offensive language, the dialogue volume is muted. For scenes with nudity, sexual content, extreme violence, or extreme language, the DVD skips only the unwanted content.
They love movies just as much as you do, so they take great care to maintain the presentation quality of the movie– the only thing gone is “that one scene” you wish the kids never saw...
With ClearPlay what you don't get is as important as what you do get!
NO Profanity
NO Gore
NO Nudity
NO WORRIES!
ClearPlay makes watching edited movies really easy.
